Facebook Ads Launch Checklist (Free Template)
FB Ads Template For Setup & Launch - IOS Compliant
Welcome back anons.
In today’s post, I’m giving you a Facebook ads template that will help you set up your ad account and launch ads properly.
Setting up Facebook ads from scratch can be a pain, even for a seasoned Facebook advertiser.
This Facebook ads template will act as a roadmap during setup so you can keep track of progress and launch according to best practices.
How To Use The Template
To use the template, go to the Facebook ads launch checklist and make a copy or download the sheet.
After that, make it your own and begin checking off your steps. 🤙
The template has two tabs:
1. FB Ads Launch Checklist
2. Audience Creation Checklist
Tab 1: FB Ads Launch Checklist
Tab one will include all general steps needed to set up your account.
Reference links from Facebook (now Meta lol) are provided at each step so you can learn what's needed to check off the task.
Links are straight from Facebook so you should have everything you need to set up properly.
Tab 2: Audience Creation Checklist
Tab two will list out three columns:
1. Website Tracking Event
Source of the website custom audiences you will create
2. Audience name created from the source website tracking event
Bolded and underlined names are general audiences I suggest creating to start so you have your bases covered
Website Custom Audiences
Lookalike Audiences
Engagement Custom Audiences
3. General custom audience day ranges (30, 60, 180 days) and Lookalike audiences percentages (1-10%) created from those custom audiences.
You can create custom audiences based on any day range, 30/60/180 are general day ranges ad managers typically create.
Here’s another good reference if you need help understanding what custom audiences are and how to create them.
After creating your audiences, you can then use them to build out a full funnel strategy in ads manager to attract and convert users.
Here’s a few full funnel audience examples you can build out in Facebook:
The “Optimal Campaign Setup” is my favorite because it includes audience exclusions.
You don’t need to get this granular if you don’t have a ton of traffic (example: view/add to cart 7/14/28, can be view/add to cart 30 days), but you get the picture.
Final Words
Wanted to call out a checklist like this that has helped me with past builds and influenced this checklist.
It’s still a good resource but it’s a little outdated and doesn’t include info on how to be IOS compliant, which is vital for Facebook ads today:
If you have any questions on any of the above, feel free to leave a comment.
I’m happy to help!
More detailed breakdowns of audiences, campaign builds, and more in the future!
Stay tuned anon… 🤙
